After reviewing the Spider-Titles the last couple of months, it is apparent that the titles are all becoming more consistent quality wise from title to title with many high ratings. It is still too early for the new direction on Amazing Spider-Man to tell if that it a huge or medium success...Or possibly, but not likely, no success at all. Looks like there is plenty of good reading ahead for the Spider Titles unless you are a Mary Jane fan...I for one, am not, and feel she is an unnecessary character in the Spider-Verse for it to be a success. A quick glance at all the issues that Spider-Man have been in will tell you that she has been in a small minority of them and portrayed well in a much smaller minority. You may very well disagree but lets take a look at the most memorable Spider-Man stories: They usually involve a conflict between Spider-Man and a villain, a mystery surrounding a new character, or a death (too many). It's not because of Mary Jane. Of course this is not considered fact as is with anyone's opinion, but it is worth looking at.

After reading Amazing Spider-Man #30, I get the impression that the new character Ezekiel will become one of the best new characters to be introduced in a Spider-Man comic in a long time. He has alot of potential as a father-like figure that Peter has been missing almost all of his life. I just hope he doesn't die, at least too quickly as does way too many characters that get close to Peter. It's like the boy who cries wolf: each successive death loses it's impact on the readers. It gets old real fast and now death is pretty meaningless in the Spider-Verse. It would be more of a challenge to keep a character (s) fresh in regular continuity. Morlun, on the other hand, is a character that many would not mind if he was killed rather quickly as he reminds many of Morbius or even Hunger, but look out for the seemingly "extra" player by the name Dex.

We shall see in the upcoming months and it should be fun!

Here is another overview of the current happenings on this site and there are many improvements, especially in the comics section:

Comics: All of the mainstream Spider-Man titles including Amazing, Spectacular, Web Of, Spider-Man, Marvel Team-Up now have quality scans meaning that the old far from quality scans of covers have all been replaced. The originals have been done over four years ago using the photo guide to save time resulting in an awful resolution for many covers. The new cover scans were done using the ORIGINAL comic. That means my copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 was VERY carefully scanned and all copies from then to present. My Spider-Man collection is now fully and truly online:)...Also, I have added a Non-Continuity section for many suggested titles that I have added and will continue to add. A Reprint section will also be added soon and have many Marvel Tales already available to view. There are now over 2,460 comics on this site with many waiting to be added. Write me to see anything new that involves Spider-Man. A breakdown of what is on the site can be found here: Spider-Man's Comic Summary.

Villains: Many villains have been added and many more are planned to be either expanded, added, or updated...Look for them!

History: There is big new addition to the site very recently. It is called Spider-Man Timeline. It is a chronology of Spider-Man throughout the years and gives a brief description of each comic in an orderly fashion. You can track Spider-Man's actions in his life and gives greater detail to the History of Spider-Man. A Chronology is a science that measures events and times and not just a simple dated listing of Spider-Man's issues. There are plenty of goodies spread throughout the years as well...New character arrows when a villain is introduced or first battles Spider-Man that will take you to his profile & Some life size cover scans are also available for important issues. This section will added from time to time as the later years will take quite a bit longer in creating that the earlier years.

Thanks for reading,

Eric
