Name: Blackie Drago ID: Known Relatives: Unknown, although daughter has become Raptor in the Spider-Girl Universe. Affiliates: Former cellmate of Adrian Toomes (Vulture I) Enemies: Spider-Man, Kraven the Hunter, Vulture I Powers: Possesses the same abilities as his predecessor, Adrian Toomes. Superhuman level strength, vitality, & athleticism while wearing a harness that enables him to have the ability to fly due to the Electromagnetic anti-graviton generator built into it. Can fly at speeds of up to 95 MPH for up to 6 hours & can attain maximum altitude of 11,000 feet. He doesn't have the same experience level as the original Vulture, He did add a protective helmet to the costume as well as a small built-in short-wave receiver. Origin: As a cellmate of the Adrian Toomes, the original Vulture, Blackie was obsessed with learning the whereabouts of the Vulture's winged costume. Blackie secretly set up an accident putting Adrian on his death bed. Adrian gave information to where Blackie can find the costume, in hopes that he will destroy Spider-Man once and for all. After Blackie reveals his little "secret" to Adrian, he escapes prison and locates the costume. With a little getting used to, Blackie soon became the second Vulture. |

In Amazing Spider-Man #48 Blackie Drago sure was a cocky guy! After creating an "accident" for his cellmate, the original Vulture, he got exactly what he wanted: Information pertaining to the whereabouts of the winged costume stashed away by Adrian Toomes, who is now on his death bed. Adrian wanted revenge on Spider-Man so much, that he easily gave the the information to Blackie. Blackie then revealed his plans to Adrian, then escaped prison. After finding the costume, Blackie went on a crime spree, getting the attention of not only Spider-Man, but one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies: Kraven the Hunter. It was a three-way battle in Amazing Spider-Man #49. |
| The major slug-fest between Spider-Man, Vulture II , and Kraven the Hunter ended for Blackie when he was zapped by Kraven's paralyzer ray emitting from his costume and was down for the count. Blackie was returned to prison, until Amazing Spider-Man #63, where it was revealed that the original Vulture, Adrian Toomes was alive and well. It turns out that he too escaped prison and his strength slowly returned to him. He brought Blackie's wings to him and helped him escape prison. You just knew that the two had to go at it, and they had a major battle that lasted the better part of half an issue, with the older Vulture putting a beating on him. Blackie never wanted to put on the wings again. |
