Brief History

Greg and Annie Herd, better known in the criminal world as Aura and Override were first seen as part of a group of mercenaries organized by the second Doctor Octopus in the Scarlet Spider-Man titles, first in Spectacular Scarlet Spider #1. After being defeated, they went on to become bounty hunters, and when they went after Spider-Man, Greg's wife Annie got caught in a force field with a laser-beam, which ended up crippling her and leaving her dependant on a life support machine. Greg was seen many times grieving over her at the hospital and elsewhere. He was at wit's end and didn't know what to do in order to save her. Of all people, Norman Osborn came with some help.

Greg eventually gave in and decided to become part of the Gathering Five ceremony began by Norman Osborn, in order to pay her very expensive doctor bills. The ritual of five people vying for one of five great powers: Power, Knowledge, Immortality, Insanity, and Death. Trying to gain a power that would help her heal, he instead received Death in Amazing Spider-Man #441, and was enslaved my Dolman, a mysterious necromancer in search of an object used in the ritual.  After battling Spider-Man, Spider-Woman III, and the X-Man Iceman, Shadrac eventually  defeated Dolman, and was merged with him to stop him from destroying the world. Presumably, he still is out there somewhere
