Morlun was destined to be one of the most powerful foes that Spider-Man has ever faced! With much mystery surrounding him and his origins, Morlun needed to feed off the totemistic energies of those who have them. When introduced, he fed off and killed an unknown German Superhero, but it was only time until his hunger needed to be satisfied once again. When he got his first glimpse of Spider-Man, Morlun was appreciating the beauty of what he was about to "devour", and set-off Spider-Man's spider-sense. While Spider-Man was learning the true intentions of totemistic hunters from his new friend Ezekiel, Morlun became ready for his next hunt: Spider-Man. By creating havoc in the streets of New York, he drew Spider-Man closer to him, and they finally met. The meeting didn't go too well for Spider-Man, as he received the worst part of a two issue battle. Spider-Man tried to lose Morlun by changing into Peter Parker, but once Morlun met you, he could always locate you again and again

After one of their most fierce battles, Morlun concluded to his "slave" Dex, "something is wrong with him" (Meaning Spider-Man). The battle was later joined by Ezekiel, but he was eventually fed-off and seemingly died after falling into the waters. Peter took a sample of Morlun's blood, and discovered that it is an amalgam of every kind of cell: Animal, Bird, Insect, Human, whatever. Morlun's cells broke down over time and needed periodic re-charging from a source life-form from time to time. Peter finally put his brains to the test and led Morlun to a Nuclear power plant, where Peter injected himself with high doses of radiation. When Morlun tried to feed off of Spider-Man now, he grew terribly weaker every instance he was touched. Peter's hunch was correct: He was NOT a pure totemistic force. With Morlun now near death, Spider-Man's decision to kill him was made easier on him when Morlun's "slave" Dex shot Morlun to his death. All that was left of Morlun was ashes, but there is this strange little feeling that we will see him once again.
