Chameleon's History

The Chameleon has menaced other characters in his long history including The Hulk (Teaming with the Leader), Daredevil, Captain America, and Iron Man...But he is still dedicated to bringing down his main nemesis, Spider-Man!...After teaming with his life-long friend and confidant, Kraven the Hunter after their initial meeting, it was years till the Chameleon re-surfaced in Spidey's books, but when he did, Spidey seemed to have no trouble thwarting any plans he had.

It again was years later when The Chameleon sought revenge on Spider-Man, but again, he fell short on his desires...Even with a new hologram belt that aided his disguising capabilities...And again, years later (see a pattern here?) we see The Chameleon go up against you-know-who...This time after drinking a serum that makes his face featureless and malleable, able to take on any feature he sees...Thwarted again!

Trying to become a major player in the New York crime scene, The Chameleon kidnapped J. Jonah Jameson and did so with the help of Hammerhead, another Crimelord-related villain...With many issues between appearances, The Chameleon again, makes his presence known in the middle of the storyline involving Peter's Parents supposed return (They turned out to be human constructs)...Again, he wasn't much of a threat, but we learn a lot about his background and his relationship to Kraven the Hunter while in East Europe long ago.

The Chameleon makes himself much more of a threat when he threatens Peter's and Mary Jane's life while assuming the identities of many people and seemingly cracking-up at the same time as he eventually assumes the identity of his missed friend, Kraven the Hunter...Yes, he is beaten again...The last we have seen of the Chameleon was in Webspinners #11 where he looked like he didn't make it after jumping off a bridge.
