The second part of this three issue story arc continues with Jameson in his "Hades" as Spider-Man does some investigative work at the morgue. Spider-Man learns that the "dead" body of JJJ is nothing but a sophisticated mechanical construct and Spider-Man intends to find out where the real Jonah is. Where the real Jonah is though is in a studio made to appear like Hades and Mysterio is having a ball tormenting him there. Spider-Man is getting closer and closer to Mysterio but must first do battle with what appears to be the Sinister Six, er Five (No Mysterio!) but quickly learns that the five are just paid actors and then Spidey is on his way to the studio.
In another scene, Betsy Schneider, Beck's childhood friend, awaits Quentin in a Diner but does not meet him. In place of Quentin, Mysterio greets Betsy as being under the guise of the Master of Illusion give Quenty much more confidence in life. It seems Betsy knew he was Mysterio all the time and went along with him thinking he wouldn't hurt anyone and that it was all special effects just like in their childhood and she gives Quentin his first kiss.
Spider-Man finally arrives at the "Hades" studio and finds Jameson completely losing his mind. Spider-Man literally "pulls the plug" on the whole illusion and frees up Jameson for just the moment until Mysterio comes back with Betsy where he goes on a rampage firing blasts out of his costume and emitting a huge Sphinx head out of the floor startling everyone. The issue ends with Betsy becoming more and more upset at Quentin's actions and questions why he doesn't sound like himself to which he responds " I am...And ever shall be...Mysterio!". Doesn't sound too safe for Betsy as the Sphinx head takes off into space with Mysterio and Betsy but there is someone else clinging to it unknown to them...A hero willing to sacrifice himself to save Betsy...Spider-Man, right? Nope, it's "Just A Guy Named" Joe Smith!. Continued next issue!
