Last we left Spider-Man last issue, he was webbed to the ark full of Dinosaurs being flown by Stegron the Dinosaur Man who was introduced last issue. Stegron wants to bring the ark to New York City to begin to take over the world and return the dinosaurs as the earth's rightful leaders. "Dinosaurs On Broadway!"  is a very fitting title for this issue as Spider-Man is now out of the Savage land that he was in last issue along with Ka-Zar and Zabu the Sabretooth. This issue brings together Spider-Man and the Black Panther, two heroes who haven't really worked together much in the past, but this shape up to be a memorable one! Lets see is Stegron will indeed conquer the world or if the combined efforts of Spider-Man and the Black Panther can stop him:

The issue opens with Spider-Man still attached to the flying ark full of Dinosaurs flown by Stegron. He remembers what got him there, from the favor he did for Dr. Curt Connors, to the battles in the Savage Land. But now he has to get to the top of the ark, and indeed he does. He walks up behind Stegron without him noticing, but some of the dinosaurs notice him and communicate this to Stegron. Stegron then greets Spider-Man with his swift armored and spiked tail making Spider-Man go flying, but Spidey lands on his feet ready to do battle. Spider-Man then shoots his tail full of webbing it pinning it against the platform, then lands some punches. Stegron still manages to free his tail and lands a good one into Spidey's face making him unconscious. Stegron then throws him overboard into the cold waters off the coast of New York. We then cut away to the Avengers Mansion where their Butler Jarvis calls out to T'Challa, the Black Panther, who has many times been an Avenger in his career. Jarvis noticed on some sensors that a mysterious flying vessel of great size has been coming into the area and thought that it would be wise for the Black Panther to investigate it. T'Challa then gets into an Avenger's Quin-Jet where he discovers not only the ark, but a quickly falling Spider-Man. The Panther acts quickly and puts the Quin-Jet on automatic Pilot before lowering himself outside the vehicle to catch Spider-Man. When Spider-Man arrives in the Jet, he tells the Panther the whole story concerning Stegron. They both meet with Doctor Curt Connors to over strategy on how to capture Stegron and his army of dinosaurs.

We next cut to Central Park where a mugging is taking place, but out of nowhere, a long powerful tail of a giant dinosaur whacks the heck out of the would-be mugger. With Stegron riding the huge creature, he cries out to everyone to flee before the majestic might of Ssssstegron, lord of the dinosaurs! What follows is pure mayhem. Dinosaurs begin to burst out into the open including the park and into the city's streets. Word of this craziness is spreading fast, especially on the radio where the Panther, Spider-Man, and Connors learn of Stegron's whereabouts. Spider-Man and T'Challa leave right away to confront the dinosaurs as well as Stegron, but the first glimpse of the huge reptilian creatures taking over Times Square is just too much to take for these heroes. Stegron now claims the island of Manhattan his just before being kicked in the face by the Black Panther. While the Panther and Stegron battle it out, Spider-Man is busy trying to web up the dinosaurs, as the police keep innocent bystanders behind barriers. One of the innocent bystanders includes Mary Jane Watson, who strangely walks right into the action, fooling a policeman in letting her get past the barriers. Just as a huge Brontosaurus begins to fall on her, Spider-Man shoots his webbing at her, and saves her just in time. Spider-Man then gives the Black Panther a hand with Stegron, and another person walks past the police barriers, Doctor Curt Connors. Connors begs his former assistant to listen to him, and then tells Vincent Stegron that there is no cure for his condition. Stegron reacts with a swift swing of his tail into the body of Connors, then communicates to a Pterodactyl. The Pterodactyl comes swooping down clipping both Spider-Man and the Black Panther, before taking Stegron for a ride. Spider-Man quickly gets to his feet and climbs a building where he has a shot at landing on the prehistoric reptilian bird himself. When he gets on top of the Pterodactyl, he lands a ferocious punch to Stegron that knocks him into water below where he seemingly drowns. It has been known that dinosaurs are lousy swimmers, but that will not preclude Stegron making a future comeback.

Spider-Man apologizes for not saving Connors friend, but Connors believes that Stegron was doomed even before he took the formula that changes him into the dinosaur man. You know what? I should just let it out of the bag! Stegron did NOT drown in this issue! He came later in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #165 & #166 where he fought Spider-Man once again in a storyline that also included Doctor Curt Connors alter ego, the Lizard. Again, one of the better two issues of Marvel Team-Up that introduces a somewhat important villain for Spider-Man. Be sure to get both issues of the storyline in order to read them together. This storyline is very suggested and should be at the top of the list of anyone looking for interesting and entertaining issues of Marvel Team-Up.
